A long-sleeve overshirt in chunky wide-wale corduroy, cut with the room to go over a shirt or a tee. Available in Cocoa and Duck Brown.
An overshirt is defined by its cut rather than by its cloth. It has to clear whatever is underneath without pulling at the shoulder or riding up at the back, and that is what this pattern is drawn for. Wide-wale corduroy suits the job because the ribs are broad and the surface carries weight, so the garment holds its shape as an outer layer instead of collapsing the way a shirt would. The chest pocket is enlarged, its grain set horizontally so it reads as a block against everything around it. Sizes run S through XXL.
Both colourways hide a day's wear, which is the correct property for something worn on the outside. Put the overshirt over a tee in autumn and over a shirt when winter arrives properly. It replaces a jacket for most of the time a jacket is not strictly necessary.
